My Story
Hello,
My name is Isiah Foster. I am a Black Photographer Born and Raised in Oakland, California.
During COVID and the George Floyd Protests, I wanted to be on the ground with the people there and document their stories and what they saw. While doing this I found a new love for telling stories with pictures and showing the world what Oakland and the Greater Bay Area have to offer.
I started Isiah Foster Photography in September 2020
I believe my love for nature and photography came from the natural beauty we have in the Bay Area. I attended Sacramento State for a few years and then transferred to San Francisco State University as a Computer Science major. But in my childhood, I would spend hours in the Oakland Hills enjoying the view and the air. In High School, I took Photography for an elective as I thought it would be an easy 'A'. One of the first projects was to take the camera along with us and just take pictures of what happens in our normal life. The first day, I took the camera, a Canon Rebel T3, with me to the Hills and took some breath taking pictures of the entire San Francisco Bay Area. This photo and experience inspired me to do what i thought was impossible; take incredible pictures of normal things to show the world to take the time to find the beauty in everything.
My Philosophy
Since I was little, I had dreams of my perfect day. Where it would be, who would be there with me and more importantly how would we remember that day. And now, I get to capture everyone’s perfectly special day.
